Have you missed Biking for God? We will go back to the bike trail beginning this coming Wednesday, August 23rd, at the Laneville Bike Trail in Freeport. We were not able to start at the beginning of summer due to the repairs being done on the bike trail. But now that they are completed, we can get our bike and resume our biking for God. So let us go back to the bike trail to sweat out and be healthy. It is good exercise for our snoozing muscles in our body.
For those who do not bike, you can still join us. There are walkers who do a mile of walking while enjoying the company of others and the nature around the bike trail.
For those who have not experienced Biking for God, what we do first is gather before we begin either to bike or walk and pray. Then, after we bike to Monroe or walk for a mile, we go back to where we started and spend a little time sharing from any current events or a particular passage from the Scriptures which can be related to our daily lives. It is also an opportunity to know and meet new friends which we may not have the chance of knowing or meeting from Church, as we only spend time there for mass and then go home. So invite everyone to join us! Bring your family, friends, neighbors and others! Let us enjoy each other’s company as we bike/walk for God. It starts at 6:15 P.M. and ends no later than 7:15.
Don’t forget to also sign up for our upcoming Parish Appreciation Picnic on September 10th that begins with our 11:00 A.M. Mass at Renshaw Farms, located on Ford City Road, Freeport. It is about five miles from our Church. This is a way of remembering and celebrating our parish anniversary which is September 8th and our 191st year, and at the same time, an expression of thanking you for your generous support for our Diocesan Lenten Appeal this year. We had a very successful DLA. Sign-up sheets are located at the entrances of the Church or you can call the parish office at 724-295-2281 and let Claudia know how many in your family will be attending. The deadline to register for this parish event is Sunday, September 3rd. God bless!
