What you will see in our bulletin this Sunday are pictures from our recent Vacation Bible Camp held in our parish for five days. We had a total of 51 children, Pre K through 6th grade, who participated. For the five days, VBC revolved around the theme “Shipwrecked – Rescued by Jesus” in which each day the children learned a lesson from a biblical story where Jesus rescues, like when people struggle and worry. As the evening progressed, they were asked to look for events where Jesus rescued them. That was their biblical discovery. Melissa Kristine helped them in that area for the five days. The next station was crafts where they enjoyed their time using their creativity in making craft related items appropriate to the evening’s theme. Thanks to Melissa Smock and other volunteers for helping out in that area. Afterwards, they went for yummy tropical snacks provided by Donna Smith and her crew. Then they played games and learned songs.
The children had a wonderful time. Thanks to Laura Huth for leading the VBC this year in coordination with Helen James. She, herself, had some moments where Jesus rescued her from worrisome technical problems during the week. In the end, she breathed a sigh of relief when she made the children and parents happy after seeing the fruits of VBC where they learned the lessons, sang songs and did the crafts.
Till next year…
Kudos to everyone who volunteered, participated, and extended assistance! God bless you all!
Planning ahead, you can save the date for our Parish Family Picnic. It will be held on September 9th, at Renshaw Farms.
