Our neighborhood listening sessions have begun. We had our first session last Sunday at the Freeport Theater, at 6:30 P.M., for parishioners who live in Allegheny Township. The second one was held at John and Betty Lou Nemcek’s residence and parishioners that live close to Buffalo Trails were invited.
Now some of you may ask what these neighborhood listening sessions are all about. The neighborhood listening sessions are basically an invitation for all parishioners living in a certain area proximately close to each other that we call neighborhood and we gather with one of the host families. The primary purpose is to meet with you and listen to your hopes and expectations for our parish.
As your pastor, I want to make sure that your spiritual needs are attended to and your concerns are heard. I have been your pastor for two years, but I must admit that I haven’t yet meet all of the parishioners nor visited them in their homes. So these neighborhood listening sessions will give me an opportunity to meet you and know your hopes and expectations for our parish. Your presence will be highly appreciated and your sharing will be helpful, especially as we prepare for our new strategic planning next year with the Pastoral and Finance Councils.
If you happen to miss the neighborhood listening session in your area, you are invited to attend one of the other scheduled sessions. We have five more sessions scheduled at different locations to make it more convenient and accessible for you to attend, especially for those of you who are busy with family and work. The five remaining sessions are:
