First of all, I am grateful for your generous support for our Diocesan Lenten Appeal because we have already met our Diocesan goal. Now whatever is in excess will remain in our parish to fund our projects. As identified and presented to you, we have the following projects we want to accomplish this year. First, to build a children’s learning space center below our sanctuary as we see the growth of having many children, especially during Sunday’s liturgy. It gives more space for them to feel comfortable. Second, to reinforce the sandstone foundation on the left side of the church building as we want to preserve the historicity of our building and to make sure that we are safe in the use of the church building for our worship. Third, we need to repair the eaves of the church on the left side along the gutter as they are starting to deteriorate. Finally, to support new and growing ministries in our parish where everyone can be encouraged to engage and share their time, talents and treasure for the good of our parish and the community. We want to provide everyone an opportunity to share, to grow and to be empowered.
As we are getting closer to our holy week of the Lenten season, we are given opportunities for spiritual preparation through the sacrament of reconciliation. For this week, we have the following regional penance services scheduled:
Monday, March 19th – St. Mary, Mother of God—Yatesboro at 7:00 P.M.
Tuesday, March 20th – St. Lawrence Parish—Cadogan at 7:00 P.M.
Saturday, March 24th – Christ Prince of Peace Parish—Ford City at 12:00 Noon
Ours will be the last one on Holy Monday, March 26th—at 7:00 P.M.
The Ministerium Lenten Series will also conclude on March 22nd, at the Trinity Lutheran Church at 12:00 Noon. The speaker will be Derrick Lumsdens, Minister of the Sowers Chapel.
