Are you looking for activities for your children this summer? Vacation Bible School is scheduled for this week, July 23rd-27th, in our Fellowship Hall, from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. It is open for children from Pre-K to 6th grade. Our theme this year is “Shipwrecked - Rescued by Jesus”.
Everyday there will be a venture onto an uncharted island where children will be taught that Jesus will rescue them, that Jesus will carry them through every storm in life. They will learn to hold onto God’s promises when they are lonely, when they struggle, do wrong and feel powerless. It will be five days of learning anchored in biblical stories, but at the same time it will also be fun, as there will be games and crafts to enjoy and participate in daily. Snacks will be provided so they will not go hungry and will be able to maintain their energy and engagement with everyone.
There will be volunteers who will be assisting in all areas. For example, during craft time they will be assisted by Melissa Smock and Alexandra Lasko. For snack time, Donna Smith will be serving them. For music, Hannah Kristine will teach them songs. For bible time, Melissa Kristine will be reading some biblical stories related to Jesus rescuing and helping people and she will teach them some lessons to remember and will be reviewed the following day. The teens will facilitate with the games.
This year, our overall in charge of Vacation Bible School is Laura Huth in coordination with Helen James, our Director of our Religious Education.
We thank all those who donated snacks and items for games and various activities, gave monetary donations, all who volunteered and gave their time, talents and skills, especially Laura Huth, for spearheading our Vacation Bible School this year along with Helen James.
Anyone still interested in being a volunteer (provided you have the necessary clearances) for Vacation Bible School is certainly welcome. You may contact Laura Huth at 724-316-3712 or Helen James at 724-295-4758.
