For the past two weeks before mass, you have been hearing about the RCIA Program.
But you may ask, what is RCIA?
RCIA is an acronym that stands for Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults that is
intended to instruct in the Catholic Faith those who are seeking to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church through Baptism and/or Confirmation and Holy Communion. RCIA is a process. It is geared towards helping a catechumen or candidate understand the Catholic Faith and towards the end of the process, he/she decides either to embrace the Catholic faith or continue his/her discernment.
Now, who should look into the RCIA Program?
Anyone not yet baptized.
Anyone baptized, but not as a Catholic.
Anyone baptized as a Catholic who did not yet receive first Communion or Confirmation.
Fully initiated Catholics seeking fuller catechetical knowledge of their Catholic Faith.
If you belong in any of these categories and you are thinking of becoming a Catholic,
interested in what the Catholic Church teaches and wanting to deepen your understanding of our Catholic faith, then you are most welcome to join us. We will be glad to be of help to you.
You may be officially a member of another Christian body who is seriously considering the claims of the Church, or perhaps you were baptized a Catholic but never taught the Faith. Maybe you were raised Catholic but later drifted away and are now looking to come back to full communion with the Church. You might be a committed Catholic who just wants to learn more about the Faith. If any of these descriptions fit you, you may be interested in exploring our St. Mary, Mother of God RCIA Program.
